The Canales farmhouse is located near several archaeological sites in the area, such as the recently discovered Nuragic village of the "Media Valle del Cedrino", or that of "Serra Orrios", one of the most impressive on the island. The property is located halfway between two small 17th century rural churches, Santu Pantaleo and N.S. degli Angeli, built on low hills and accessible only by boat or kayak. Moving up stream, the river landscape is characterized by basaltic plateaus on one side and limestone walls on the other, allows you to admire caves of enchanting beauty and gives you the opportunity to reach the karst source of Su Gologone, an area of geological, historical, and naturalistic interest

Lake Cedrino, a fairytale location and a thousand secrets to discover
Guided by the sun and the light breeze, discover the places you can visit during your kayak trip.
In spring downstream, Lake Cedrino is full of colours by spring: wild orchids, borage, broom, rosemary, and periwinkle grow wild along the entire basin, an explosion of botanical varieties ready to be witnessed by your sight and smell. This is the perfect season to navigate the waters of the Cedrino: by kayak, alone or in the company of Stefano, our expert guide of the area. The water level and the temperatures are ideal for exploring the natural wonders of the area.
Summer at the Canales farmhouse has the scent of myrtle flowers, the beauty of mouflons and gray herons, accompanied at nightfall by the chirping of cicadas. In this season the water level of the lake drops down, making navigation a little harder. It becomes the perfect time to discover the other beauties of the area: from the beaches to the mountains, an expanse of crystal-clear waters and treasures of other times are just waiting to be explored.
The mild climate and the warm colors of the Cedrino valley announce the arrival of Autumn: the nature around Canales begins to turn red, yellow, and brown; it is time for cyclamen and arbutus, for walks in the mountains and outdoor sunsets with the most intense colors, accompanied by the delicacies of the farm and a good glass of wine. Silence is the setting for this natural landscape, interrupted by the flowing of the waters as the levels rise again.
In winter, splendid sunny days alternate with periods of cold and strong winds from the north. But the beauty of an island is just that: the wind purifies the air and envelops nature with sound caresses. At Canales it is time to stock up for the next season: from meats to sausages, then it is time to pick the myrtle berries and turn them into liqueur, as well as citrus fruits into jams. Everything happens in front of the fireplace and in the company of the family.
